website was created to offer Segler - Seigler Family members and
their friends a
place to view our family tree, photographs, documents, memorabilia,
keepsakes and other items of interest to the family. It
will remain in an ever-changing state as new information is
learned
or as input is received. My thanks to Bob Seigler who has contributed extensively to this website. Bob passed away December 1, 2018 and is now in a better place. He was loved and will be missed by all. He has done so much research about our famiy history and has much documentation verifying its information. Until we connected, I never knew my family background any higher than Dr. Thomas F. Segler. Thanks to Bob and all his efforts, we can now trace Segler-Seigler back to 1740! | My Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother were Dr. Thomas F. Segler and Rachael Dean Barnes Segler. Their son, Mack Moten Segler was my grandfather. He married Polly Wilcoxon and they had thirteen children. My father was Robert Burt Segler. And I am Sid Segler. I was married to Jean Adkins Segler for 53 years. Unfortunately, she passed away in November of 2011. We have one son, Dale, and one daughter, Sher. They both have two daughters, so it looks like the Segler name in my branch of the tree will stop there. But there are lots of male Seglers left to keep it going! |

| On the left is Sid in 1939 at age two, all dressed up in overalls, with a shovel and huge pocket watch chain. Dad was a railroad engineer and I guess he wanted me to be his fireman. On the right, only 77 years later at 79, here I sit working on the computer with some of the clocks I have made in the background. I must have been having fun, because, as they say, "time flies when you're having fun". Things like designing websites and building clocks sure keeps the mind working and makes time fly! | |
